Robert Priddy's Guru Foot Fetish

When Robert Priddy was a devotee of the Indian Guru Bhagavan Sri Sathya Sai Baba, he loved the guru so much that he decorated his altar with pictures of his Guru's feet and reverentially worshipped them with great devotion.

The following picture shows Robert Priddy's former altar in his home in Oslo, Norway. As one can see, he had two pictures of Sathya Sai Baba's lotus feet (guru charanam). This is the same altar where Robert Priddy would offer his prayers, pranams and obeisances to his former Guru.


Robert Priddy even wrote about his infatuation for his Guru's lotus feet in his Pro-Sai book, Source Of The Dream. The term "padnamaskar" means to offer a prayer or pay one's respect to a Guru by mentally or physically bowing down to the Guru's feet. Robert Priddy fully acknowledged that he desired and took padnamakar from Sathya Sai Baba several times while a Sai Devotee.

Robert Priddy (Chapter: The Inner Sanctum): While he was signing a photo or two prior to ending the interview, I recalled that during the past two years since our previous visit there was one thing I had really decided to ask for, which was to touch his feet (padnamaskar)...As soon as I had thought it, he turned toward me, still talking all the while to another, and came straight across the intervening couple of yards to press one of his feet, the left, so gently against me where I sat. I took padnamaskar. There was no obviously noticeably physical effect, but there was the keenly peaceful and joyful sense of fulfillment in having for the first time reached the feet of the Master and of the Eternal Friend.

Robert Priddy (Chapter: Enigmas of Suffering and Healing): During the private interview, when Baba promised Reidun to look after my health, he also tapped me on the head once while I was taking padnamaskar.

This is the reason why Robert Priddy is so bitter and wages unremitting smear campaigns against his former Guru. He is embarrassed and angry that his mushy gushy and flowery devotion to Sathya Sai Baba is so well documented and he can't do anything about it. Tough luck Mr. Priddles!
